The long answer is that I always surf the web for inspiration and tips before I start a new brew. I visit homebrew blogs, websites and forums. I figure I have a part to play in other brewer's journeys sometimes as I have yet to find a one-stop-shop of brewing, partly because forums are too dependent on the ego's of those who run them and their cliques. More on this later.
I'm not a wine ponce, but I don't do loopy juice (gets you pissed for cheap but tastes gross) well not intentionally anyway! Our typical spend on a bottle of wine is around £5, tho often these are promotional bottles that are normally up to twice that price. I aim to make wine of comparable quality so if your typical spend is similar then perhaps this blog will interest you.
A word on forums ...
If you have some expertise like you are a professional brewer, a time served homebrewer, or a scientist (e.g. chemistry or biology degree) then the chances are you'll want to share what you know. However, in doing so you will threaten at least one of the powers that be (site owner, moderator, administrator etc) with consequences.
These types may not bring out your generous sharing side! Hence I have no forum recommendations, but do look for yourself 'cos many have lots of useful info despite the egos.
I do recommend Jack Keller's website tho.
